The river was just bumped up to 7,500cfs and could go even higher soon; so this is something to keep an eye on if your heading to the Horn. Fishing however hasn't slowed and folks are having some good days over there.

Fish are concentrating mostly subsurface from the reports we've heard, but there's been some midge action on top from time to time and the BWO's are going here and there but because of the flows they aren't feeding as heavy on top. The best nymphing combos are pretty predictable, if you stick with sow bugs, ray charles, zebra midges and assorted midge immitations, the occassional san juan worm or egg and some mayfly stuff on the smaller side and you'll be pretty well set for the Bighorn right now. No fish on redds from the reports we've heard, but that's just as well, leave em be if you do find them, let them do their thing.

The streamer bite has been quite good as well, but the sink tip is a requirement as most of the fish still seem to be holding a little deeper - sweeping some runs with a spey rod can also be fun and effective, if you do this get some larger streamer patterns with not a lot of weight and lots of feathers and movement - Fatheads are a great swinging pattern as is the Flankhead. Another one of our new favorites this spring has been the Bling Minnow in the Pearl (that colors up nicely with markers to match whatever you want to match color wise).
