The river is a little off color with about a foot or less of visibility, and will keep getting worse with the warmer weather rolling in the next couple of days. We have been getting mixed reports about the fishing. We were on the river last night, and you had to keep your mouth closed or you would inhale a thousand of caddis, but only saw one fish head up. Cherry Creek and Elk Creek are both dumping in dirty water, so below Black's is donesky.

Even though the water is a little off color, you can still pick up some fish sub-surface if you don't see any noses. Throwing big bugs will be your best bet for catching fish like big crayfish patterns, sculpin patterns, or big buggers. This is also a good time for the hot worms, hot orange, bright red, hot pink, and crayfish. With the water rising there will be a ton of of worms in the system, so that is always a good pattern to go to.

Streamer fishing has been picking up some out here, with off color water this is a great time with water temps warming and water levels picking up some to start fishing some bigger uglier stuff out here and swinging a few runs with some smaller streamer patterns as well. I prefer yellow and orange colors on this river when it gets off color, black is decent as well - as a general rule of thumb I don't match off color water with brown and olive streamers, they tend to blend into the muck. Get a pattern that moves some water too - slender and silent is not the way to fish in the off color.
